Hello! I actually live in Cleveland, but have friends and family in the Pittsburgh area. I've been studying Japanese on my own for about a year and a half. I also homeschool my two daughters, so it can be a bit of a challenge finding study time. I've taught a bit of Japanese to the girls as well and would like to work on teaching them kana--the youngest can already recognize a few. I am a big fan of Japanese dramas, some of my favorites are Trick, Gokusen, Midnight Rain and Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi.

A few months ago I found out that as a resident of Ohio I can apply for a Columbus library card, they will mail it to your house. With the card you can sign into the Worthington library online and access Rosetta Stone for free. This has helped tremendously with my pronunciation and kanji recognition.

I also keep a livejournal for learning Japanese but I don't update it nearly as much as I should.
